PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Efe Poturoglu, a partner at the firm, is a business lawyer with a diverse practice which includes assisting U.S. and international companies with their business immigration/global mobility matters and providing general counsel to non-profit organizations and commercial entities.
Mr. Poturoglu’s business immigration practice focuses on all types of temporary work visas (such as H-1B, H-2B, L-1, E-2, O and R visas) as well as employment based permanent residence (such as EB-1 extraordinary ability immigrants and multinational managers, EB-2 and EB-3 professionals, and EB-2 National Interest Waiver green card cases). Mr. Poturoglu regularly advises corporate clients with the transfer of executives and employees to the United States. He has successfully represented high-profile international companies and non-profit organizations employing foreign professionals in various industries including: IT/technology, construction, engineering, media/broadcasting, consulting, hospitality, healthcare, religious affairs, education and not-for-profit.
Mr. Poturoglu also serves as general counsel to international corporations and non-profit organizations including educational institutions. He handles a variety of corporate matters including setting up subsidiaries for foreign companies and organizations in the United States and handling a variety of business transactional matters.
Mr. Poturoglu frequently engages in public speaking on immigration issues to educational and business organizations throughout the United States and Turkey. He regularly appears as a legal commentator on various media outlets including Voice of America. He is frequently referred to as a primary source by print and online media regarding developments in immigration law. Mr. Poturoglu is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the 2013 Power Player of the Year Award in Immigration Law Category by SmartCEO Magazine, and the 2015 Lawyer of the Year Award by the American Turkish Association of Washington, DC.
Mr. Poturoglu received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, where he was a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver in 2000.
